Book Recommendation

I would recommend The Great Gatsby for people who like movies and/or books set back in the 1920s. This book is very romantic so if you don't like romantic type books, I would not read this. I really like The Great Gatsby. I saw the movie first and thought it was really good so decided to read the book and see if it was just as good, or if not better. I had heard from many other people that the book was really good and kept your attention so I decided to read it so I could compare the book to the movie.

Free post (The Great Gatsby)

So far in the Great Gatsby, the main character has moved into god small little "hut" next to Gatsby mansion. He has then been invited over to Daisy his cousins for dinner. Daisy always looks across at Gatsby's house and I think that she still loves him after all these years of no contact and being married to another man. I think that they will have an affair and Daisies husband will know about it, but keeps it a secret that he knows. I hope that Gatsby and Daisy can keep it a secret and nothing will go wrong .

Mood and Tone

The mood of Crushed, Pretty Little Liars is mysterious and/or suspenseful. An example of when the book is suspenseful is "I do love some freshly planted lies on a lovely spring afternoon. I wonder if Agent Fuji feels the same.. -A. Spencer squeezed her eyes shut. Letting out a wail, she hurled the phone across the room.. " This is an example of suspense because this is the end of the chapter so you want to keep reading to find out what happens with A and if she follows through with what she says.

A moment in Crushed when a character is swayed by beliefs of others is when Spencer says that A could be Noal, Aria's boyfriends. At first Aria isn't very happy with this and gets very mad. But the more she thinks about it, she starts to question this. She starts to wondering and think about the possibility of Noal being A and then starts to question their relationship and lies to him.

Characters

In Crushed, the 13th book in Pretty Little Liars, the charcters have defiantly developed over the course of this book and the past 12 books. Emily is one charcter who I notice a big difference in. In the beginning she is very timid and scared, especially when A first starts to send them weird texts. She was really scared as to what might happen to them. She was also frightned the someone was pretneding to be Ali, who was dead, and texting them. She goes the the other 3 girl, Spencer, Aria and Hanna for support. The girls all use each other for support and to lean on each other as they are going through the same thing. Because Emily is scared it makes you feel bad for her and almost understand what she is going through. But as the story continues she gets brave and trys to find out who A is so she can stop A and stand up to him/her. This drives the plot because if Emily stayed timid adn scared the whole time, you wouldnt feel the suspense of trying to find A. You also wouldn't understand her feels as well.

Free Post

Along with reading Pretty Little Liars, I am also reading the Great Gatsby. I just started it and found it pretty confusing in the beginning but as I got into it a few pages it made a lot more sense. I saw the movie a few months ago and thats what inspired be to read this book. I also heard from a few people that the book is really good and keeps your attention. I think I will really like the book, I just need to get further into it.
